Welcome to Rimrock Meadows in Eastern Washington

Located east of the Cascade Mountains in central Washington, Rimrock Meadows is a beautiful subdivision for those seeking a year round or seasonal property. With spectacular views of the surrounding rolling hills and valleys, Rimrock Meadows is an ideal place to go snowmobiling in January or bask in the sun at the clubhouse swimming pool in July! Located within an hour of several lakes and the Columbia River the area is a recreational paradise. Rimrock Meadows offers a large swimming pool, RV and tent sites, tennis courts, a playground, 7100 acres to roam, trailer storage and a rustic clubhouse with kitchen facilities. I am impressed with how well the facilities are maintained by the property owners association! It is a quick 16 mile drive to the town of Ephrata and 35 miles to Moses Lake where you will find plenty of shopping.

The beautiful mountain that runs for miles on the way to Rimrock and the entrance to the clubhouse.

Some of the developed lots in the subdivision.

A beautiful clubhouse, RV storage, swimming pool, clubhouse with games, big barbeque pit, playground and camping sites are all for use by the property owners!

Douglas County borders the mighty Columbia River on the north, west and south. Waterville is the county seat. It is easy to see the main industry is agriculture as you drive along. It is a beautiful sight with rows of irrigated apple and peach orchards, and mile after mile of wheat fields and cattle grazing. The largest town in the area is Wenatchee with a population of over 29,000. Called the Apple Capitol of the World, the Wenatchee Valley also produces pears, apricots, cherries and many wineries.  They enjoy four distinct seasons with over 300 sunny days a year! The average high temperatures in the wintertime are in the 30's and the average high in July in the high 80's. It receives between 9 and 11 inches of rain and 27 to 43 inches of snow annually.

When I was a kid my aunt took me camping at one of the lakes about 20 minutes from Rimrock. That was the best vacation I ever went on as a kid. We camped in a tent and got to swim in the lake all day long. She took us to Grand Coulee Dam and I still have a picture of me standing on top of the dam with my sisters and cousins.  My grandparents would visit every fall to buy boxed fruit to can for the winter. Those were the best peaches!

The area is a recreational paradise with the following favorite tourism areas all within about an hours drive: Columbia River 30 miles, Coulee City 30 miles, Coulee Dam 50 miles, Lake Chelan 50 miles, Leavenworth 65 miles, Soap Lake 13 miles, Sun Lakes 30 miles, Wenatchee 45 miles, Jameson Lake 15 miles, and Waterville 25 miles. Local activities include skiing, hunting, swimming, boating, fishing, atv, wineries, golfing, mountain biking, snowmobiling, and white water rafting.

This is just too damn cute - Badger Mountain Ski Hill by Waterville and a few views of the cute town of Waterville from a distance. Waterville is the county seat. March 2006

The crops fed by the mighty Columbia River and the apple boxes stacked up waiting for the new season! May 2006

A gorgeous picture of Coulee Falls sitting along the Columbia River. I zoomed in on the fields to the south of town and you can see field after field of crops. These crops go on for miles and I've enjoyed getting to see the different seasons as we explore this area. March 2006

These four pictures were taken in Leavenworth, a quaint little Bavarian village nestled in the Cascade Mountains. I have spent many weekends visiting this town and camping in the area! I reccomend finding the music box store and taking a horse drawn carriage ride after dark - oh ya and don't forget the bavarian hot dogs!

A few of the locals!

Lake Osoyoos, located at the border of Canada, is a fourteen mile long lake that stretches into British Columbia. My Canadian friends are always telling me they are going camping here for the weekend and it was pretty cool to tell them I visited the American side! It is located just north of Oroville and there is a 47 acre State camping park there. There is boating, fishing, skiing and swimming. March 2006

The beautiful town of Chelan that sits near the southern part of the 50 mile long glacier fed Lake Chelan. The lake extends to the northwest up into the Cascade Mountains where there is Federal protection of a National Park, two National Forest Wilderness Areas, and National Recreational Area. Mark and I have visited this town a few times during our vacations but it had been about 15 years. I was stunned to see how much growth had happened especially with the beautiful houses along the lake shore! March 2006

These pictures were taken of Banks Lake by Coulee City. Coulee Dam, located at the top of the lake, is the largest concrete structure in the USA and provides irrigation to over half a million acres of Columbia Basin farmland. There were a pair of ducks nesting when we drove to the park outside of town and they sure squacked to let us know they didn't like us disturbing them!

Ephrata, population 7000, is located 16 miles southeast of Rimrock Meadows.

Moses Lake, population 16000, is 35 miles southeast of Rimrock Medows. One of the friendly property owners told me that she used to fly into the airport here and her husband would pick her up so they could spend the weekends at Rimrock.

Campers using the facilities at Rimrock Meadows summer of 2006 and someones quad parked outside the clubhouse - what fun!

The local farms in the valley to the south of Rimrock Meadows. It was busy when we visited in late summer 2006, with crops being harvested and irrigated - so pretty to see in the high desert!
