PROPERTY INFORMATION

5 acres of land for sale in the Four Corners area 2 hours W of Albuquerque in the Four Corners area. It's one of my favorite places to spend the day looking at land in this peaceful area in the Zuni Mountain area rich in history. It sits on the back side of El Morro National Monument about an hour S of Gallup and an hour W of Grants NM by the Arizona State line.

I have not had a chance to view this property, but I was out in this area one time and I dug deep to find a few photos in February 2004. We had just finished looking at a property about a block away and I thought we had turned north up Happy Valley Drive.

Standing in the middle of the road were several cows and a few babies and a big bull. We tooted our horn to get them to move and apparently the big bull didn't appreciate it and raised his head up and gave out a big hollar saying CHARGE!!! As if in slow motion, this herd of cattle started coming at us and we quickly put it in reverse and headed backwards! I was yelling keep going, keep going! They didn't run for long but I must say it gave us a deeper appreciation about the strength they sure have in numbers!

You can see how much snow that was there on February 9, 2004. There was snow on the ground but we were still able to drive around this lower unit. We have included aerial photos that show the property to be mostly open meadows with a few trees sprinkled about. It looks to be fairly flat with a gentle roll to it, a place that's warm and open with lots of sunshine!

I did not see anyone around in the aerial photos and you would need to visit to know just how private it is but it appears to be a pretty place to escape and enjoy the warm desert sunshine with an RV! This would be such a fun and cheap place to come play with your family. And once you pay for it its always yours!

This is a fascinating rural area, well off the beaten path by the Cibola National Forest, the small town of Ramah, and the Zuni Pueblo. The area is filled with stunning rock formations and big tall rich red mesas, El Morro being one of them!

El Morro National Monument is a historical landmark of the remains of a mesa top pueblo where up to 1500 people lived in an 875 room pueblo between 1275 and 1350 AD. Also called Inscription Rock, travelers have left signatures, names, dates and stories including carvings made by the Pueblo People.

I recently attended the land owns association annual meeting and met a gentleman who said he had bought his property from Smile4u and I smiled as I said I'm Char. Wow...one of my customers - I so loved it! He invited me to stop by so I did!

Big grin here! He has built such a beautiful little cabin up in Pine Meadows! It looked as if he was expecting company even though he wasn't and he had a gorgeous native blanket on a wood post bed! In the corner sat a wooden stove and beside it a cook stove. His floor and front porch were made from the gorgeous red rock found here as well and it was spotless! It grew dark chatting with him and I look forward to visiting him again when I am in the hood!

I noticed that once again it was another stunning sunset over Pine Meadows. Oh I so love this part of the world! I could go on and on about the Zuni Mountains and Pine Meadows, petro glyph writings, red canyons, sub sandwiches, wolves...blah blah blah. Someone who once worked for me told me "no one will care what it looks like..why spend all the money to go see the properties we sell". The answer is so I can stop and smell the roses! Char the Explorer : )

ADDITIONAL PHOTOS

Cibola County - Pine Meadow Ranches, Candy Kitchen and Area Photos

All of these photos were taken on our journeys to Cibola County, the Pine Meadow Ranches and Candy Kitchen area!

Cibola County is located in the southern most tip of the Rocky Mountains in the Zuni Mountain Range. The Cibola National Forest includes the Zuni Mountains. Cibola County is rich in history and for the past 220 million years has been host to a variety of travelers including the Dinosaurs, and prehistoric culture called the Ancient Ones.

Here you will find El Morro National Monument also known as the "Inscription Rock". Rising 200 feet above the plains this was once the site of two Anasazi Pueblos in 1275 A. D. The largest pueblo was made up of over 900 rooms. Hundreds of Indian petroglyphs are found at the base as well chiseled names of numerous explorers, soldiers, settlers, and immigrants. This area today is designated a National Park. It is easy to see why this was a welcome landmark for weary travelers. Not too far away I marveled at the the windows in the rocks of the Prehistoric Cliff Dwellers.

Pine Meadow Ranches sits on the back side of the El Morro National Monument. Candy Kitchen is another nearby community. They are both It is easy to locate and pretty easy to find your way around since many of the streets are marked. The main roads have been graveled and the dirt roads are pretty easy to travel. Below is a link to view a map of the whole subdivision.

They are truly a beautiful peaceful place and well worth your efforts in checking out if you're seeking a beautiful place in the mountains! The higher elevation of 7200 feet makes this a great escape during the summer months to cooler temperatures.

We believe the lots in Pine Meadow Ranches were surveyed and staked at the time parcel maps were recorded with the County and we have found several stakes in Candy kitchen as well.

When I get asked whats the most beautiful areas of all the places I travel to I always include this area! For more pictures and information from our journeys to this area be sure and click here - Char's own web page of Cibola County Info!

Here is some information from the Pine Meadow Ranches Land Owners Website about the wells and dues there: Some owners have drilled private water wells that went 200 feet deep while some went over 800 feet. There also is a community well that property owners can use to haul water for their own use.

Property owners pay assessments each year to help maintain the roads as they are private roads and there is no help from the state or county. When people buy property in Units 3 or 4, they become members of the Pine Meadow Ranches Property Owners Association. The yearly assessments are based on the amount of property they own and this money is used for road maintenance in Units 3 & 4.
