PROPERTY INFORMATION
 

40 acres of real estate for sale! Only 20 miles northeast of the bustling town of Elko, Nevada, between Reno and Salt Lake City, Utah. This land for sale is in Cowboy County in northeast Nevada with fabulous views of the Ruby Mountains. The land adjoins two square miles of BLM land!

I purchased this property at a foreclosure sale and I was thrilled to see this come up in a sale as it has the same view of the Ruby Mountains as 20 acres I have been saving for myself a few miles to the southeast. The Rubies loom very large over the smaller mountains and valley floor! I hope to some day live there myself during the winter so I can watch it snow on the Ruby Mountains! Oh, I just love the view of the Ruby Mountains from here! Often called the Swiss Alps of Nevada they rise to 11,300 feet at Ruby Dome.

The property sits in the valley floor at the base of the Adobe Mountain Range, so there is a bit of a roll to it. You can see in the photos, as well as the aerial photo-maps, that there are a few low points between these gentle rolling hills creating an intermittent stream during heavy snow melt or rain fall. The Adobe Mountains sit from the southwest to the northwest and over to the northeast. They are very close by and have a lot of character.

It is about a ten minute drive northeast of the town of Elko on Interstate 80 to this area, and then a ten mile drive north on a county maintained graveled road. That road leads about 1/2 of a mile to the east of the property. There is also a bladed dirt road that runs about 3/8 of a mile to the northeast of the property. You can see both of these roads in the photos and aerial photo-maps. I took photos of the property and surrounding views from each of these roads.

There looks to be power about 1.5 miles northeast at the neighbors near the Devils Gate Ranch. This is a gorgeous ranch that I have been watching for a few years now and this year was a real treat. There was a huge herd of deer out grazing in some of the hay fields by the river - what a beautiful sight! By the time we got done watching them and made it down to the North Fork of the Humboldt River which is about 3 miles to the east it was dark. So, we took a photo of it in the headlights...guess that's what I get for being slow, but it was so worth it!

My notes say "5 stars for being close to town and the views!" If you have been looking for a rural off-the-beaten-path place to hang your spurs - yet an easy drive to town, check this out! It’s just waiting for the right cowboy or cowgirl!

As we stopped in Elko for our last time to fill up before leaving I noticed a quad with a big elk head on it. I quickly grabbed my camera and went over and asked if it was permanently mounted on it. They said they had just got it the day before and packed it out from up by Wild Horse! I asked if I could take their photo and use it on my website and that it would forever be in history that way and they were great sports! So a big thanks to all the friendly folks in Elko. You make my visits there so incredibly special!
