PROPERTY INFORMATION
This 21.6 acres of land for sale in Oregon is about an hour NE of the bustling town of Klamath Falls by Sprague River and Beatty. It is a huge chunk of thick forest land with big trees. In fact it is so thick I got lost on this property a few times as I trekked around it - holy cow, which way is up!?! Klamath County is located in the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains, bordering northern California in central Oregon.

I had a chance to view this property in April 2012 and all of the photos are of the property and its surrounding views. There was a beautiful herd of deer down the road where we turned onto the bladed road off of the highway. There are a few homes along the way to the property. At one point there is a split in the road and you're not sure which way to go as these roads run parallel and we took the one to the left and continued on to the property.

I had GPS coordinates and stopped where we showed the property should be and I headed thru the woods to follow the survey markers. We previously sold this property and they had it surveyed and we have purchased it back from them. I remember visiting it the first time in 2004 and thought it was really cool back then. They told me they at the top of the property you could see for miles and I set off to climb the hill this property sits on to see what I could find.

I followed survey markers at the NE corner of the property along the road to the west side of the property noticing poop, flowers, pine needles, moss and tons of tall trees! I finally found a federal survey marker that marks the half mile section line and this is also the very NW corner of the property. You can see this point in the parcel map. The property climbs up the hill that this property is part of from the east to the west. You can see this in the aerial photos.

It took me a while to find a spot that had enough clearing to shoot the photos of the snow-capped mountains! There were some beautiful views of the snow-capped mountains that loom huge above the close by huge other mountains covered in huge tall thick trees! It really is a thick chunk of the forest in the middle of the forest! It is surrounded by the Winema National Forest which sits less than a mile to the NE. You can see this in the BLM map and each of those squares represents one square mile.

From there I walked down thru the property to the SE and noticed a few homes that were to the west and south. The county zoning says it is forestry but there are homes and people there. Hmm... You can also see a few structures in the aerial photos.

There was a bit of a low point and it looks like a bit of water might flow thru this part when the snow melts. I also noticed a road that seemed to meander along the west side of the property but I wasn't really sure if it was on the property or in between the properties or what. I took a few photos of my moccasins with some of the animal prints and poop that I found in the forest. Can't believe I have started to include poop but I hear it gets the hunters all excited! Ha! : )

The first time I viewed this property I did not scramble around it. I so enjoyed seeing it again! Other than getting lost twice in the woods I loved it! I stood on one of the old logs at the front of the property at the end of trekking around it and gave it my two thumbs up! Loved it! Char the Explorer :)

Klamath County - Bly Mountain, Sprague River And Beatty Area Photos

Klamath County - Bly Mountain, Sprague River And Beatty Area Photos

All of these photos were taken on our journeys to Klamath County!

Klamath County is located in the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains, bordering northern California. Klamath Falls, the fourth largest county in Oregon, is the county seat as well as the largest nearby town. This area is a favorite for many seeking a rural setting off the beaten path and is a beautiful place for those that want to live in the countryside! It is a gorgeous area and a fisherman's and hunter's paradise! I love this drive to town and have seen flock after flock of birds, kids out hunting and even a few pelicans along the river. I had no idea that pelicans lived in Klamath Falls!

Klamath Falls is best known for its wetlands, woodlands and wildlife. Klamath County is home to Crater Lake National Park and sits directly under the Pacific Flyway. Millions of migrating birds rest and refuel in the county's six wildlife refuges. The largest concentration of bald eagles in the lower 48 states winters here. The Willamson, Sprague and Sycan Rivers can be seen from Crater Lake as well as Agency Lake and Upper Klamath Lake. Upper Klamath Lake spreads nearly 30 miles long and up to eight miles wide hosting activities such as windsurfing, sailors, fishermen and hunters. The crystal clear water around Pelican Bay is home to rainbow trout. Fly fisherman from around the world catch some of the largest trout on the continent. Canoe and kayak trails meander through the marshes and waterways of Pelican Bay giving views to waterfowl, otter, mink, deer and bald eagles. The county is blessed with an abundance of deer, elk, migrating geese and ducks - a hunter's paradise!

The area is surrounded by the Winema and Fremont National Forest as you can see this in maps. The OC & E Woods Line State Trail is an old 100-mile trail open to all non-motorized recreation including bicyclists, pedestrians and equestrians. The area is known as Oregon's Outback, and provides the self-reliant recreationist the opportunity to discover nature in a rustic environment. I obtained the following information on the US Forest Service website: "The Fremont-Winema National Forests offer 2.3 million acres to explore! The heavily timbered western portion of the forests is bordered by the crest of the Cascade Mountain Range and Crater Lake National Park, and stretches east into the Klamath River Basin, an area known for its year-round sunshine. Near the floor of the Basin, the forest opens to vast marshes and meadows associated with Upper Klamath Lake and the Williamson River."
