PROPERTY INFORMATION
This 2.25 acres of land for sale in Sprague River, Oregon is about 2.5 hours E of Medford, Oregon an hour NE of the bustling town of Klamath Falls by Sprague River and Beatty. Oregon. Klamath County is located in the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains, bordering northern California. Klamath Falls, the fourth largest county in Oregon, is the county seat as well as the largest nearby town.

All of the photos were taken of the property and its surrounding views in April 2012. I had a great time checking out this property as there is a very cool rock outcropping that sits at the rim at the back of the property where Tableland, a mesa above the Sprague River Valley, falls into the valley. And best of all there was the cutest little chipmunk that posed for me! I hiked a few different properties along this rim that day and it really is a very cool feature of the mesa and I am glad that I finally took a moment to stop and smell the roses along the rim!

Rim Drive is graveled all the way to the property and it was an easy drive to the land. There are power lines along the north side of the property line as seen in the photos that are about three strands wide - bigger than normal power lines but not huge transmission lines and don't really obstruct the view to the north. About four lots to the NW are single line power poles where there is a neighbor.

The property sits on top of Tableland which is a flat mesa above the Sprague River Valley. There are a few neighbors up on this part of Tableland but for the most part it remains undeveloped with plenty of privacy! The property is fairly flat to the back of the rim where it drops off to the valley below. I found a few stakes at the back of the property in the rocks at the mesa. I also found some poop back there for those people who know their poop and included a photo of it! ha!

Did I mention just how cool these rocks are! They drop off for quite a ways and I had to be careful climbing around them - fall off some parts and I would definitely get hurt! They sure had some interesting beautiful colors in them as well.

And I didn't even mention yet that thru the big trees at the back of the property are pretty peaks of the Sprague River as she meanders thru the Sprague River Valley! And across the other side of the Sprague River Valley is Bly Mountain! she adds a lot of character with tall pine trees snow on her still!

Klamath Falls, the fourth largest county in Oregon, is the county seat as well as the largest nearby town. Klamath Falls is best known for its wetlands, woodlands and wildlife. It is home to Crater Lake National Park and sits directly under the Pacific Flyway. Millions of migrating birds rest and refuel in the county's six wildlife refuges. The largest concentration of bald eagles in the lower 48 states winters here and they are a fabulous sight to see as seen in some of our pictures below of the area!

The population of Sprague River is about 365 and has a store with basic necessities and there is also a post office. Beatty is another small don't blink you'll miss it towns about 15 minutes to the SE that has a cute store with gas and basics, a post office and a few other businesses. You would do your major shopping about 45 minutes away in Klamath Falls where you will find Wal-Mart and the county court house.

We picked this property up at a foreclosure sale and got a fabulous price on it myself. The property is zoned for a home or manufactured home. This area is a favorite for many seeking a rural setting off the beaten path and is a beautiful place for those that want to live in the countryside! Char the Explorer : )

Klamath County - Bly Mountain, Sprague River And Beatty Area Photos

All of these photos were taken on our journeys to Klamath County!

Klamath County is located in the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains, bordering northern California. Klamath Falls, the fourth largest county in Oregon, is the county seat as well as the largest nearby town. This area is a favorite for many seeking a rural setting off the beaten path and is a beautiful place for those that want to live in the countryside! It is a gorgeous area and a fisherman's and hunter's paradise! I love this drive to town and have seen flock after flock of birds, kids out hunting and even a few pelicans along the river. I had no idea that pelicans lived in Klamath Falls!

Klamath Falls is best known for its wetlands, woodlands and wildlife. Klamath County is home to Crater Lake National Park and sits directly under the Pacific Flyway. Millions of migrating birds rest and refuel in the county's six wildlife refuges. The largest concentration of bald eagles in the lower 48 states winters here. The Willamson, Sprague and Sycan Rivers can be seen from Crater Lake as well as Agency Lake and Upper Klamath Lake. Upper Klamath Lake spreads nearly 30 miles long and up to eight miles wide hosting activities such as windsurfing, sailors, fishermen and hunters. The crystal clear water around Pelican Bay is home to rainbow trout. Fly fisherman from around the world catch some of the largest trout on the continent. Canoe and kayak trails meander through the marshes and waterways of Pelican Bay giving views to waterfowl, otter, mink, deer and bald eagles. The county is blessed with an abundance of deer, elk, migrating geese and ducks - a hunter's paradise!

The area is surrounded by the Winema and Fremont National Forest as you can see this in maps. The OC & E Woods Line State Trail is an old 100-mile trail open to all non-motorized recreation including bicyclists, pedestrians and equestrians. The area is known as Oregon's Outback, and provides the self-reliant recreationist the opportunity to discover nature in a rustic environment. I obtained the following information on the US Forest Service website: "The Fremont-Winema National Forests offer 2.3 million acres to explore! The heavily timbered western portion of the forests is bordered by the crest of the Cascade Mountain Range and Crater Lake National Park, and stretches east into the Klamath River Basin, an area known for its year-round sunshine. Near the floor of the Basin, the forest opens to vast marshes and meadows associated with Upper Klamath Lake and the Williamson River."
