PROPERTY INFORMATION
 

1 acre parcel land for sale about 1/2 hour E of Albuquerque, New Mexico between Edgewood and Cline's Corner in Torrance County. The Estancia Ranchettes are located about six miles E of the town of Moriarty just off of Interstate 40 and Old Route 66! Dirt cheap rural land has pretty views of the Sandia Mountains and plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures!

All of the photos were taken about four acres away in October 2007 when we viewed property two blocks to the NE. We noted this in a few maps where the photos were taken. This is the main drag thru this part and is an excellent graveled and graded road as seen in the photos and maps.

The Estancia Ranchettes covers a large area with a few residents sprinkled about, and for the most part this rural area remains undeveloped with plenty of privacy! It reminds me of the start of the great praries that run across the midwest thru Kansas.

Moriarty and Edgewood sit across the valley in the distance to the W and NW and there are a few pretty homes with groves of trees that sprinkle the horizon across to them. Beyond them are beautiful views of the long range of the Sandia Mountains from the SW to the NW! Sandia is spanish for watermelon and I included a few photos of the sunsets I have seen here - just stunning! On the other side of the Sandia Mountains is Albuquerque and a few years ago they improved the interstate that quickly takes you thru this mountain to the big town!

There is a pretty view of treed hills to the NE. I did see a mobile home with quite a few tires not too far away and the aerial photos also show a few homes around the area. That mobile home was hiding a bit below a rolling hill and you can see the top part of it in the photos.

The view of the wide open valley across to the mountains is big and beautiful. The vegetation is a short grass vegetation with a bit of sagebrush and native plants strewn about. The property looks to be fairly flat. There were a few cows grazing in the area down the road - some had some cool looking horns and I have also seen a few horses and antelope out grazing in this lower part.

Cline's Corner is a cute famous stop along Old Route 66 down the road 30 minutes E and I have enjoyed a few lunches at the cafe and they have a great little gift shop. I included a photo of me and my sister standing in front of their totem pole last summer as well as me and some real cowboys a few years ago out front! Fun place indeed and it is reflective of the rural cowboy and Indian country this part of New Mexico is!

I think this is a fabulous price for an investment property so close to the major metropolitan area of Albuquerque with great access. It would also be a great place for someone seeking an off grid spot for a home at a dirt cheap price for an acre of land! Enjoy! Char the Explorer : )

Torrance County and the Estancia Ranchettes Subdivision Photos

The Estancia Ranchettes is a very easy subdivision to locate just east of the town of Moriarty off of Interstate 40. It is a large subdivision with a few residents sprinkled about but for the most part remains undeveloped. There are stunning sunsets over the Sandia Mountains to the west! Sandia is spanish for watermelon. The subdivision is gentle rolling hills with scattered sagebrush, native plants and grasses. There are cows, horses and a few antelope roaming about.

The growing town of Moriarty, New Mexico lies approximately 33 miles east of Albuquerque. Moriarty is mostly a ranching and farming community but its close proximity to Albuquerque is making this small town a fast growing community. The vast open undistrubed range is home to farmers, ranchers and wildlife. Torrance County is one of the most productive agricultural counties in the United States producing pinto beans, corn, hay, cattle, nursery crops and vegetables. Today it enjoys commercial development brought by Interstate 40 and is one of the fastest growing counties in the state.

With an elevation of over 6,000 feet it is considered ideal weather by many with only 11.5 inches of precipitation annually. Sunny days abound with mild winter temperatures of 45 degrees to 87 degrees in the summertime. The land is flat with beautiful views of the Sandia Mountains to the north and Manzano Mountains to the south.
