PROPERTY INFORMATION
 

2.27 acres of land for sale just a few miles SW of Montello, Nevada by the Idaho Utah Nevada state lines in Elko County, Cowboy Country! There are a few people who live off grid in this beautiful rural valley tucked away at the bottom of the Toano Mountains with plenty of privacy.

Montello is the hub of the valley and a small town of about 480 people sitting at an elevation of 4880 feet. It offers a gas/mini grocery store, post office and restaurant. Wendover is a larger town to the SE on I80 and people in this valley commute there for work as well and groceries. The big town of Elko is about 1.5 hours to the west where you will find a hospital and major shopping. Salt Lake City is about two hours to the east and Reno sits on the other side of the state to the west.

All of the pictures were taken showing the subdivision and its surrounding views in 2003 and 2004. It is a very pretty setting near the foothills of the Toano Mountain Range. It has beautiful views of the trees filtering down these mountains to the west. It is a beautiful valley and one of my all time favorites to explore land in because of the abundance of wildlife I see every time I visit! This is where I saw my first herd of wild horses!

There is an improved road leading out to this area that goes thru the subdivision and it appears the subdivision roads were bladed some time ago so it is pretty easy to drive. There are dedicated easements to each of the properties guaranteeing legal access.

There are gorgeous views of the Toano Mountain Range which sits just a few miles to the west. I have really enjoyed driving across the top of this mountain range and is a terrific place to go explore! Across the valley to the east is the Pilot Mountain Range with Pilot Peak to the SE at 10,716 feet! Rhyolite Butte is a unique rock formation sitting on the north end of this range. The town of Montello can be seen in the distance. As you can see in the pictures, this valley is surrounded by beautiful panoramic mountains in every direction and has an abundance of wildlife roaming around!

This property sits a few blocks south of 640 acres (one square mile) of BLM land and there is another 640 acres a few blocks to the west as well! For further information about blm land visit BLM.gov. I have often seen hunters coming out of the Pilot and Toano Mountains and I think this would be a great spot to put a cabin or park your camper.

Elko County provides unlimited recreational opportunities with fishing, big game hunting (mule deer, elk, antelope and bighorn sheep), snowmobiling, ice fishing, mountain biking, hiking, camping, boating and skiing.
