1.7 acres of land for sale in the Kentucky Lakes Development, a subdivision tucked in against Kentucky Lakes just above the Tennessee border near Murray Kentucky. It is in the southwest corner of Kentucky and in the southeast corner of Calloway County. Kentucky Lake, The Tennessee River, was created in 1944 by the Kentucky Dam. It is 184 miles in length and has 2,064 miles of shoreline. There is a boat launch into this lake on the east side of this subdivision as seen in the photos below!
These seven adjoining lots are a very cool piece of land built around an intermittent stream to the east! It is flat up on the paved road to the west and then slopes down toward the east and then to a sharp drop off at a ravine where it then goes up a gentle hill to the east on the other end of the property. This looks like it would be a great spot to watch the animals!
There are lots of tall beautiful trees that had gorgeous fall colors when we visited in November 2007. There is power and phone along the road on two sides! There are a few neighbors in the area. I thought this was a nice are in the subdivision and a gorgeous chunk of land. All of the pictures below were taken from a few different parts of the property and surrounding views. My notes say "5 stars"!
The maps we received from the county are in poor condition and we have tried our best to read them and write the dimensions on the map. I suggest you verify the dimensions with the county before developing it. It looks to be about 1.50 to 1.75 acres total between the seven lots. We did speak to the county and they are very willing to assist property owners in developing their properties and two lots is suffecient for development. I see they think outside the box and gave us information about using holding tanks so be sure and talk to them if you decide to build.
There is a public boat launch nestled in the subdivision as seen in the pictures and maps below. It sits down along the Tennessee border as seen in the map below. It was very easy to access the area and such a beautiful surrounding area!
These lots would be terrific for a fisherman seeking a place to build a getaway, pull in their RV or build a cabin to enjoy while they fish! Enjoy! Char the Explorer : )

Calloway County and Kentucky Lakes Area Photos
Calloway County was formed in 1823. The population is about 36,240 for Calloway County and 16,557 for the town of Murray. Its central location is within a day's drive from most of the eastern United States. Murray is only eight miles from the Tennessee state line. It is 125 miles north of Nashville, 225 miles southeast of St Louis and 228 miles southwest of Louisville.
Kentucky Lakes Development is a subdivision tucked in against the lakes just above the Tennessee border. There are several homes throughout it - beautiful homes mixed in amongst some older trailers from years back. It was a very friendly area with neighbors stopping along the way to make sure we were okay. I noticed several people pulling their boats during the day on their way to go fishing! One gentleman that stopped to talk to us shared his interesting story. He had moved here several years ago so he could have his own private retirement place to go fishing. But now there has been growth in the area and it's getting too busy for him. I laughed a bit to myself as the subdivision remains for the most part undeveloped and treed. But yes indeed there are plenty of homes in all shapes and sizes. We even saw a few deer running through the woods!
