BIG PINES! I thought we were suppossed to be having an early spring, but I found this land about 30 minutes NE of Klamath Falls with lots of snow on it still in April 2012. It had just snowed for a few days and I had a fun time trecking a few lots in the snow to it!

2.30 acres nicely treed land for sale about 30 minutes NE of Klamath Falls, Oregon by Beatty. Klamath County is located in the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains, bordering northern California in central Oregon and this is a nice little piece of land tucked away in the woods just off the main drag!
The pictures were taken in April 2012 of this property and its surrounding views. We took Hummingbird Drive, the main drag thru the subdivision, and then Jackrabbit Drive to about two lots W of the property. From there I trecked quickly thru the wet snow to reach the property as it looks like no one else is driving down this road. It had been snowing for the past two days and I squealed as I tried to run thru it as fast as I could to a dryer spot! Probably looked like a jackrabbit myself! I fell in a drift up to one of my knees - a fun time! : ) Other than short legs I had no problem reaching the property. I thought it was supposed to be early spring! Ha!
The property is nicely covered in big tall pine trees, some smaller trees, and scattered underbrush. There were a few big boulders scattered about and lots of sun starting to stream down lighting up the forest floor. I also saw some of the springtime beauty with beautiful blooming moss and red and green leaves - early signs of spring!
The lots we walked by were staked with some marked along the road. There was a sign at lot 23 and there is also a neighbor to west a few lots away. They had a "high voltage" sign by some wires on a fence that had no insulators! Ha! They also had a scary Darth Vader mask on the gate and they had a cute little place set up in the trees.
The road to his property was clear and graveled to the neighbors so you already have an excellent graveled road almost all of the way to the property. The lots slopes down to the NW off a gentle rolling hill that is covered with big tall pine trees amongst patches of snow.
The Klamath Falls Forest Estates is a treed subdivision with power running the the center of it north to south along Hummingbird Drive most of the way and branching off different roads where property owners have developed their lots. So there is at least power 6 lots west along Hummingbird. I did not see power at the neighbors and you would need to research to see if it runs any close. The main roads are in excellent condition and the only dues go toward that maintenance with no specific CCR's to follow and only county and state regulations.
I could hear the wind in the trees and thought it was a very pretty setting with hardly anyone around. I enjoyed the treck in the snow and imagined it would be a great spot in the open sunshine between the big tall pines trees to watch some green beans and carrots grow! This beauty is assessed at over $10,000. Enjoy! Char the Explorer : )

Klamath County - Bly Mountain, Sprague River And Beatty Area Photos
All of these photos were taken on our journeys to Klamath County!
Klamath County is located in the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains, bordering northern California. Klamath Falls, the fourth largest county in Oregon, is the county seat as well as the largest nearby town. This area is a favorite for many seeking a rural setting off the beaten path and is a beautiful place for those that want to live in the countryside! It is a gorgeous area and a fisherman's and hunter's paradise! I love this drive to town and have seen flock after flock of birds, kids out hunting and even a few pelicans along the river. I had no idea that pelicans lived in Klamath Falls!
Klamath Falls is best known for its wetlands, woodlands and wildlife. Klamath County is home to Crater Lake National Park and sits directly under the Pacific Flyway. Millions of migrating birds rest and refuel in the county's six wildlife refuges. The largest concentration of bald eagles in the lower 48 states winters here. The Willamson, Sprague and Sycan Rivers can be seen from Crater Lake as well as Agency Lake and Upper Klamath Lake. Upper Klamath Lake spreads nearly 30 miles long and up to eight miles wide hosting activities such as windsurfing, sailors, fishermen and hunters. The crystal clear water around Pelican Bay is home to rainbow trout. Fly fisherman from around the world catch some of the largest trout on the continent. Canoe and kayak trails meander through the marshes and waterways of Pelican Bay giving views to waterfowl, otter, mink, deer and bald eagles. The county is blessed with an abundance of deer, elk, migrating geese and ducks - a hunter's paradise!
The area is surrounded by the Winema and Fremont National Forest as you can see this in maps. The OC & E Woods Line State Trail is an old 100-mile trail open to all non-motorized recreation including bicyclists, pedestrians and equestrians. The area is known as Oregon's Outback, and provides the self-reliant recreationist the opportunity to discover nature in a rustic environment. I obtained the following information on the US Forest Service website: "The Fremont-Winema National Forests offer 2.3 million acres to explore! The heavily timbered western portion of the forests is bordered by the crest of the Cascade Mountain Range and Crater Lake National Park, and stretches east into the Klamath River Basin, an area known for its year-round sunshine. Near the floor of the Basin, the forest opens to vast marshes and meadows associated with Upper Klamath Lake and the Williamson River."
