PROPERTY INFORMATION

0.99 acres of land 10 minutes NW of Sprague River by Chiloquin and Klamath Falls in southern Oregon only one block away from the Sprague River! Located in beautiful southern Oregon in Klamath County in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains on the Pacific flyway!

All of the pictures were taken in June 2012 of the property and surrounding views and area. This is a very cute property but my notes do say to bring some deet bug spray as there were mosquitoes in the early evening. We did see people outside at the end of the street to the north without a care in the world right across the street from the river. I must be too dang sweet as they were definitely checking me out and Derek got more than a few bites! I did wonder how they were getting rid of them though. Oh well, I guess that means some great fishing in the Sprague River with all of that natural fish food! : )

The Winema National Forest adjoins the property on the other side of River Rd. to the west according to the BLM maps. That would cool to go hiking or hunting on Saddle Mountain which sits to the SW as seen in the maps. It actually looks like a Saddle!

It is a very cute property and the neighbor has a shed set up with what looked like an outhouse set up as well next door. I am making sure I say that as I have already had a few phone calls wanting to know if the cabin comes with the property and no it does not...but it does give you a great idea of what to put on your property so you can store your fishing pole! : )

This was a pretty corner lot nicely covered with tall pines. River Road is a nice gravel road in from the top of the subdivision that runs along the west of the property and Saddle Mountain Lane runs along the south of the property. Buckhorn is a decent dirt road that runs along the east of the property. I believe I saw power at the very north of Buckhorn where there was a neighbor altho I did not note it. So you will need to verify with the power company just how close it runs and the cost.

This property is only a little over a block west of the Sprague River as seen in the maps! This would a fun place to go camp or hide in the trees with so much recreation in Klamath County! I don't expect this to be around very long.

Use your maps Char is what I kept telling myself that day while out exploring land in Klamath County because I knew better than to rely on the accuracy of it in this area! The dang GPS showed another way back to the north that we did not see on the maps and we took it and had to turn around. Well now I know once again what way not to try and go! So be sure and use your maps in the listing to find this property and not your gps!

I have tried a few times now over the years to purchase land in this subdivision at foreclosures and was never successful because it was too high of a price. I actually think this is the first piece here that I have ever owned! So right on to both of us for such a fabulous price on Lone Pine on the Sprague! Enjoy! Char the Explorer : )

ADDITIONAL PHOTOS

Klamath County - Bly Mountain, Sprague River And Beatty Area Photos

All of these photos were taken on our journeys to Klamath County!

Klamath County is located in the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains, bordering northern California. Klamath Falls, the fourth largest county in Oregon, is the county seat as well as the largest nearby town. This area is a favorite for many seeking a rural setting off the beaten path and is a beautiful place for those that want to live in the countryside! It is a gorgeous area and a fisherman's and hunter's paradise! I love this drive to town and have seen flock after flock of birds, kids out hunting and even a few pelicans along the river. I had no idea that pelicans lived in Klamath Falls!

Klamath Falls is best known for its wetlands, woodlands and wildlife. Klamath County is home to Crater Lake National Park and sits directly under the Pacific Flyway. Millions of migrating birds rest and refuel in the county's six wildlife refuges. The largest concentration of bald eagles in the lower 48 states winters here. The Willamson, Sprague and Sycan Rivers can be seen from Crater Lake as well as Agency Lake and Upper Klamath Lake. Upper Klamath Lake spreads nearly 30 miles long and up to eight miles wide hosting activities such as windsurfing, sailors, fishermen and hunters. The crystal clear water around Pelican Bay is home to rainbow trout. Fly fisherman from around the world catch some of the largest trout on the continent. Canoe and kayak trails meander through the marshes and waterways of Pelican Bay giving views to waterfowl, otter, mink, deer and bald eagles. The county is blessed with an abundance of deer, elk, migrating geese and ducks - a hunter's paradise!

The area is surrounded by the Winema and Fremont National Forest as you can see this in maps. The OC & E Woods Line State Trail is an old 100-mile trail open to all non-motorized recreation including bicyclists, pedestrians and equestrians. The area is known as Oregon's Outback, and provides the self-reliant recreationist the opportunity to discover nature in a rustic environment. I obtained the following information on the US Forest Service website: "The Fremont-Winema National Forests offer 2.3 million acres to explore! The heavily timbered western portion of the forests is bordered by the crest of the Cascade Mountain Range and Crater Lake National Park, and stretches east into the Klamath River Basin, an area known for its year-round sunshine. Near the floor of the Basin, the forest opens to vast marshes and meadows associated with Upper Klamath Lake and the Williamson River."
