This ten acres is located in northeastern Nevada about 9 miles southwest of the small town of Montello and about a 35 minute drive north of the gambling town of Wendover that sits right on the Utah/Nevada border.  It is located in a gorgeous remote area of Nevada in the lower foothills of the beautiful Toano Mountain Range! This is a gorgeous valley offering fabulous views of two mountain ranges! It borders 640 acres of BLM land on its west side as seen in the blm map below. Across the valley to the west is a beautiful view of the Toano Range. There was a train passing when we visited - very cool! Across the wide open Tecoma Valley is the flat rock Rhyolite Butte that sits at the north end of the Pilot Mountain Range.

All of the photos below were taken of the 10 acre parcel and its surrounding views when we viewed the property in August 2007.  To the northeast in the distance is the small town of Montello.  This property is just off the paved highway 233 through a gate. There is a short drive on this graveled road which takes you within about five acres of the property. It looks like the road runs through the middle of the ten acres to the north as seen in the maps below. There is power about 1/4 to 1/2 of a mile away between the property and the highway.

This is such a beautiful setting! This property sits in one of the rolling foothills of the Toano Range.  There is a intermittent stream in the lower part of the property and then it has a gentle roll to the east to a flatter small hill that rolls again. The graveled road crosses this wash. There is a neighbor in the hills to the south using this road as well.  The trees filter down the intermittent stream - so pretty!

I had the pleasure of having breakfast with the retired Elko County Treasurer, Caesar Salicchi and the new Treasurer Rebecca Erickson on this trip to Elko.  It was the first time I have seen Caesar since he retired after 36 years of service!  During our breakfast conversation he commented that he was surprised that this valley remained undeveloped because it is one of the more beautiful parts of Elko County.  And I was in full agreement!
