When we pulled up to visit this area we found this deer hiding in the underbrush and trees about four lots to the east! My job does not get any better than this - beautiful!! This heavily forested property is located in the Ozarks about 2 hours SE of Kansas City near Osage Beach and Springfield, Missouri. Over the river and through the woods.....that song kept playing in my head the day I looked at this area in Forbes Lake of the Ozarks and this piece is one of those reasons why! The trees are so big and beautiful and make a wonderful canopy over the road as it winds it way through the trees! All of the photos below were taken looking at lot 1273 and its surrounding views when we explored it in June of 2007 which is only three lots to the northeast. We have shown this in the parcel map link above and this should be a good representation of the area. The parcel map also shows a green line representing power lines running along Ken Drive two lots to the northeast so there is power in the area!!! Moira Road is one of the main roads through the subdivision and all of the roads are marked, easy to locate and drive. This is a corner lot on Moira Road and Hennesy Drive so it will be super easy to locate! The topo map as well as the area photos show that this is gentle rolling hills. The trees are so thick it is hard to shoot into them to show the topography - everything is hidden in the trees! This is such a pretty piece of land, tucked away in the wood with no one around! The area is covered in trees - lots of big tall trees with medium underbrush and smaller trees as well. There are many different varieties of trees covering the property with their shiny leaves so pretty! The floor of the woods lit up when the sun hit it - very pretty! We also saw scattered wildflowers. There are some intermittent streams in the area which is where we saw the deer enjoying the beautiful afternoon in the woods when we pulled up! Prior to visiting this subdivision you will need to contact us by email or phone so we can hook you up with the proper map to drive around this subdivision as well as a gate pass. This is a private subdivision that covers over 12,000 acres and has many roads that are a maze! The maps in our listing and the maps on the land owners website are not enough for you to find your way around without getting easily lost. We purchased a very large subdivision map through the LOA that we use to drive around this subdivision and you can purchase this map through them as well or we can mail it to you in the snail mail. You must make arrangements to receive this map prior to being able to receive the gate pass. The LOA does not assist our interested buyers in locating the property and please do not ask them to. You must be able to locate this property yourself. We suggest you use MapQuest to locate the LOA's address at 26506 Gardiner Rd. Edwards, MO 65326 so you have maps to the starting point. There are restrictive covenants on this subdivision and we have supplied a link to those covenants below on the land owners association website. A few highlights of these covenants includes, homes and modular homes allowed, no manufactured homes, no hunting, camping allowed up to three weeks at a time on certain units, free RV area allowed for all owners in the community area, no pigs or chickens, and horses allowed on lots that are a minimum of 4 acres per lot. Please visit the land owners website which I have included a link to below to read all of the covenants. The property is zoned residential allowing for homes and modular homes. This unit does not allow camping on the property (some do) but there is a community use area that you can park your RV at for free and use the three boat launches into Lake of the Ozarks or just enjoy the quiet forest! Many people plan on retiring here some day and just enjoy it as a weekend or vacation getaway with their RVs for now. This subdivision does not allow hunting but there is gun range for the owners as well. If your passion is fishing and other reactional activities that include water this is your place!
