This is a 10 acre piece of land located approximately 6 miles southwest of the rural town of Montello in Elko County, Nevada. It is about a 40 minute drive to the bustling town of Wendover on the Utah/Nevada state line and the busy town of Elko is about 1.25 hours to the west. All of the photos were taken in August of 2008 just a couple lots to the north of this actual property, about 20 acres, as seen in the parcel map. They should be an excellent representation of the property, views and terrain of these 10 acres and you can actually see this land in several of the photos looking to the south. Paved highway 233 runs just right off the SE corner of the property as seen in the parcel map as well! It looks like it is just feet from the property line and there is a dedicated easement surrounding each property so you can get to yours from that point. I believe it is only the second piece of land we have owned that actually had the highway running this close to it! It was a beautiful time of the year and a gorgeous day to be out looking at land in Elko County! Oh I just love to explore this area! The skies were a brilliant blue against the mountain peaks! This property is sitting on the valley floor between these two mountain ranges, the Pilot Mountain Range and the Toano Mountains! On the north end of the Pilot Mountain Range you can see Rhyolitte Butte, a round flat unique looking rock and to the southeast is Pilot Peak at 10,716 feet! This valley has awesome views of the Toano Mountain Range to the west and southwest and of the Pilot Mountain Range to the east - very pretty! The Toano Mountains sit to the west and southwest and are so close you can see lots of trees on her! To the southeast are cool treed hills with lots of character to them! To the north is the small town of Montello where you will find a small gas/grocery store, cowboy restaurants/bar, and a post office. Wendover is a larger town to the southeast on I80 and people in this valley commute there for work as well and groceries. The big town of Elko is about 1.5 hours to the west. This land was once part of the large Gamble Ranch and that ranch sits to the north of the town of Montello. Montello is a small town of about 480 people sitting in the northeastern corner of Nevada not too far from the Utah/Nevada/Idaho state line. This is open range land so there are fences running along both sides of the highway. You would need to put a gate at the fence and also fence your property if you wanted to keep grazing cattle out. There is a railroad to the west of the property about 400 ft away, as seen in the map links above. Alternative sources of power might need to be considered as I did not see power in this part of the valley. I have a lot of people inquire about "green places" to live and this is definitely accessible all year long! The property, which central elevation sits at 5,325 feet above sea level, is fairly flat with a gentle uphill slope to the west. There are scattered sagebrush and native plants throughout the property. There is a gravel/stone trail leading along the west side of the paved highway. There is a neighboring house to the north of this property, as seen in the Aerial Map Looking North. There are a few others scattered in the distance to the north and to the east, across Highway 233 in the heart of Tecoma Valley. I can't say enough about how beautiful I thought this area was. This valley is surrounded by an abundance of wildlife in two mountain ranges!
