This is looking north on Herschell which cuts through the middle of the group of properties on the west side! Herschell runs north to south at a slant around lots 3, 4, and 10.

This is a large group of adjoining lots totaling 62.7 acres about 6 miles southwest of Winnemucca in north central Nevada. It is in Grass Valley about 2.5 hours northeast of Reno and the Oregon state line is about an hour to the north. Being sold are seven adjoining lots ranging in size from 7.45 acres up to 9.54 acres. This beautiful valley is about ten minutes away from Winnemucca which is a bustling town of a little over 7100 people. All of the photos were taken in August 2009 of the property and its surrounding views. It sure was a beautiful time of year with the valley a pretty green! From the northeast all the way down to the southeast is a very long beautiful view of the Santa Rosa Range!. It stretches from Winnemucca up into Oregon and most of the range is in the national forest. There is a very pretty mountain to the southwest and then more mountain views in the distance to the west. The area is fairly flat with a few very small gentle sandy rolling hills scattered around. You can see this in the aerial photos. The properties are covered with tall sage brush and native plants. We took the photos from a few different places as noted in the photos. Herschell is a paved road that runs through lots 3 and 10 and almost touches lot 4. DeGiogio Lane takes off to the west and is graveled around the northwest corner of lot 3. There are a few nice manufactured homes down this lane. There appears to be a dirt road down the west side of lots 3 and 10. The aerial photos showed the other roads as being in but they are overgrown and we did not spend time searching for them. We did not check out the road that comes in to the southeast corner that is shown on the aerial photos so there might be more roads in than I know about. There are dedicated easements to each property and you might need to have a survey done to pin the corners. There is power located about 1/4 of a mile south of the group of lots at the neighbors as seen in the photos and aerial photos. You will need to contact the power company to verify just how close it is and the cost. The zoning allows for homes as well as manufactured homes. There are several homes sprinkled around this part of the valley and the groves of trees in the distance add lots of character to the high desert scape! We snapped a few photos of the homes just to the south where the power is and one of the neighbors had a few horses - a very pretty rural setting! Make sure you view the Lot numbers and APN numbers (assessors parcel numbers) closely on the parcel map link above and the legal descriptions when communicating which property you are interested in. The APN numbers are noted in a circle on the parcel map and the actual lot number is the number directly above it. Sitting only ten minutes southwest of the bustling cute town of Winnemucca I thought this was a beautiful chunk of land and a great spot to enjoy the quiet high mountain desert! I am often asked for land in this area and was so pleasantly surprised to find a great improved road through the big chunk of land as well as power so close by! Winnemucca is an interesting town sitting along busy Interstate 80 about half way between Reno and Elko. The town is a great choice for people that want to live in a rural area but not be too far from a hospital with emergency department and a Wal-mart! I have stayed many nights in Winnemucca myself, enjoying the restaurants and spending my $20 in gambling money! I like the clean town and nice people. Enjoy! Char the Explorer : )
