The town of Crescent Valley just to the northwest of the subdivision and the Shoshone Mountain Range beyond!

This 3.85 acres is located about 1/2 a mile from the small town of Crescent Valley in Eureka County, Nevada. It is about 60 miles SW of Elko and 100 miles SE of Winnemucca, NV. This area is considered part of the greater Elko area and there are many people who commute out to this area every day to work in the gold mines. There are about 480 people who call the small town of Crescent Valley home. It is a scenic drive about 20 minutes south of Interstate 80. The town offers a grade school, gas/convenience store where we've stopped many times, a bar, the fairgrounds where most of the town festivities are held, and a few other places but not much more!

El Cortez Ranch is located 1/2 mile southeast of the town of Crescent Valley as seen in the section map above. It sits just on the edge of the town and remains undeveloped. There is a graveled road leading along the top part of the section for about 1/2 of a mile and then it turns to a dirt road. The roads down the easements to the properties appear to be bladed but are overgrown as seen in the photos. We were able to drive down to the bottom of the section though with no problems. It looks like someone lives in the area with a trailer and vehicle but other than that it remains undeveloped.

There is power very near the northwest corner of the section at a neighbors. You would need to bring the power the rest of the way to the property or use alternative sources of power. We found a federal survey marker in the section which will assist you in locating your property. We also noticed that several of the lots were staked. The property is flat with a grassy vegetation and a few scattered sage brush. The county requires 2.5 acres in order to install both a septic and well. Because of this we are selling these lots in pairs so you will have more than enough acreage to meet the requirement.

All of the pictures below were taken in September 2005 of the subdivision and surrounding views. We did not take pictures of the individual lots. As you can see in one of the pictures below there was a dirt devil swirling in the distance when we visited which is a typical sight on a summer day in the valley! Crescent Valley is surrounded by two beautiful mountain ranges, the Shoshone Range to the west and the Cortez Mountains to the east. There is a beautiful view of Mt Tenabo to the south which is very near the Cortez Gold mine, one of the major employers in the area.

We previously sold this on a contract and have drastically reduced it to sell for a quick cash deal! This is the only property we own in Crescent Valley - don't miss your chance! We have priced this property Enjoy! Char the Explorer : )

The graveled road that leads out to the section. You can see the town of Crescent Valley looking west down the road about 1/2 of a mile away.

Area Information

Eureka County is located in Central Nevada, bordering Elko, Nye and Lander Counties. Its lands were derived from Elko, Lander and White Pines counties in 1873. Mild temperatures, fresh high desert air, stunning mountain views and the Humboldt River make Eureka County an outdoor playground. Hunting and fishing are readily available. Average temperatures are approximately highs of 87 in July and average low of 10 in December. Eureka County's population has increased at a comfortable rate of 30% in the last 10 years.

Crescent Valley is a cute small town located 20 miles south of I80 . The town has a newer school, park, library, health clinic, volunteer fire department, ambulance and fairgrounds. The Cortez Gold Mine is the major employer and property owners repeatedly tell me the area is rich in minerals.

The picture of the farm with the hay bales was taken north of Eureka, the county seat. It is one of the many farms seen in the county - absolutely beautiful! The second picture is the Humboldt River flowing just north of Crescent Valley.

The pictures below are of my favorite farm that sits south of Interstate 80 as you enter Crescent Valley. The first picture was taken in June 2004 and the picture of the bison was taken in the fall of 2003. It is always a beautiful sight to see this farm!

Beautiful pictures of the valley in wintertime and fall.

The first picture below was taken of the Cortez Mountains in Crescent Valley just as the sun had barely set. Can you find the hidden bunny in the second picture?

The Humboldt River overflowing its banks and some of the miniature springtime flowers blooming! May 2005

Beautiful fields of yellow flowers blooming as we traveled our way down the valley and the more miniature springtime flowers! May 2005

One of the locals out enjoying a beautiful spring day in Crescent Valley!

A trip through Corral Canyon a few miles to the west of the town of Crescent Valley was a beautiful drive as seen in the next four pictures. The road snakes between a beautiful colored canyon with the creek running along the side of the road. A variety of animals call this home including these chukars who chirped loudly to each other as they scrambled up the rocks to safety! Way cool! July 2005
