Pretty views across the gorgeous valley to the Wet Mountains in the distance!

This 2.5 acres is located in what some people consider the most beautiful valley in the world, the Wet Mountain Valley in south central Colorado. It sits in the lower foothills on the east side of Deer Mountain offering stunning views over the valley. Bordered by the majestic 14,000 foot peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Moumtains to the west and the Wet Mountains to the east, the valley is filled with rich green pastures and trees! Fremont County is also home to the Arkansas River which flows to the north a few miles. It is about 15 minutes north of the small town of Westcliffe and 60 miles northwest of Pueblo.

We viewed this property in August 2008 and all of the photos were taken at that time. It was a beautiful drive exploring the area and the drive out to the property was easy with the roads marked. The property sits about 1/2 of a mile west of Copper Gulch Road which is an excellent paved road. There are homes and pretty farms as well as power along Copper Gulch Road. We took a jeep trail up the hill and stopped about 115 feet short of the property from a small tree that was down across the road. The area had a burn through it about eight years ago from what I researched and there is still some standing burnt timber through the area that needs cleaned up but not bad. There is a dedicated easement on the east and south sides of the property as seen in the parcel map link.

The property sits in the lower foothills of Deer Mountain which rises to 8428 feet at it's summit to the west of the property. The property itself is a gentle rolling hill offering stunning views from the northeast to the south! And we saw a beautiful deer in the area as we pulled up to the property! Very easy to see why they call it Deer Mountain! There are beautiful views of the treed hillsides with houses sprinkled nearby in the valley as well as across the valley in the surrounding nearby foothills. It is a very pretty and majestic setting - a beautiful place to build a home and watch the deer walk by! Enjoy! Char The Explorer : )

One of the locals on the property when we pulled up - how fitting that we found a deer on Deer Mountain!

The Arkansas River - there were several small pools of baby fish!

Beautiful views of plush green fields and mountains filled with animals!
